Mysuru has earned global fame for scholarly & cultural richness: Dr. M.R. Ravi

Mysuru: Asserting that Mysuru has earned global fame for scholarly and cultural richness, Dr. M.R. Ravi, Commissioner, Department of Textiles and Handlooms,  said that Mysuru is also home to many great personalities.

He was speaking after inaugurating Writer S. Ramprasad’s book Snehasanjeevini release programme, jointly organised by Talukina Venkannaiah Smaraka Granthamaale and Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota, marking the author’s 78th birthday at Sri Raghavendra Aradhana Mandira on Ram Iyer Road, near Sarada Vilas College, Krishnamurthypuram in city this morning.

Stating that he cannot believe that Writer S. Ramprasad is 78-year-old, Dr. Ravi said that Ramprasad has a young mind and can go on writing on many things in life.

He said that Ramprasad is a large-hearted person and the writer’s work Snehasanjeevini stands testimony to the relationship he has maintained with all sections of the society over the years.

Noting that Ramprasad has recorded all his life experiences in his work, Dr. Ravi lauded the writer for dedicating himself for societal welfare.

Renowned Publisher T.S. Chayapathy in his address, recalled his over three decades association with Ramprasad and said the writer was a very cultured and responsible person.

Actor Suchendra Prasad released the book. Book author S. Ramprasad was honoured on the occasion of his birthday.

Poet B.R. Lakshman Rao presided. Writer Kabbinale Vasanth Bharadwaj, Dr. Neelagiri M. Talwar, Director, Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies, Manasagangothri, Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota President M. Chandrasekhar, senior theatre personality Rajashekar Kadamba, Pratibha Murali of Bengaluru, journalist Ranganath Mysuru and others were present.
