Mysuru lad shines in Tennis at Canada

Sixteen-year-old Mysuru lad Mustafa Raja emerged Singles and Doubles champion in the 16-and-Under National Bank Stanley Open held at Stanley Park Tennis Courts in Vancouver, Canada.

This prestigious event is held only in three cities across Canada — Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. The winner of this tournament gets a direct entry to the U-16 Nationals which is held in Ontario during August.

Mustafa won both the Singles and Doubles. In the Singles, finals Mustafa defeated M. Ando with the score 6,1 and 6,3 to clinch the coveted title.  Mustafa, partnered with Eric Wang, to clinch the Doubles finals.

Mustafa, an alumnus of Excel Public School, used to train at Nagaraj Tennis Centre, SJCE Grounds, Mysuru, before moving to Canada in 2019.
