The Mysuru leg of the Ultimate Autorickshaw Adventure Mumbai Xpress-2018 adventure rally and challenge will be flagged off by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha from the Mysore Heritage Round Table-109’s (MHRT-109) adopted Kukkarahalli Government School, near Kukkarahalli Lake in city tomorrow (Aug. 15) at 10 am.
Namratha Shenoy, President of Ladies Circle India, will be the guest of honour. The Executive Board Members of MHRT-109 — Tr. Arun Kumar (Chairman), Tr. C.A. Kumarpal M. Jain (Secretary) and Tr. Sunil Manna (Treasurer) will be present.
The 2000 km Rickshaw Challenge – Mumbai Xpress 2018 is an adventure Rally/ Challenge done using Auto-rickshaws. The adventure will run for 11 days from Mumbai to Chennai (from Aug.10 to Aug.21) taking 16 international rickshaw racing teams with 40 participants from nine countries — UK, US, New Zealand, Australia Germany, Malaysia, Spain, Barbados and Canada — on an exhilarating journey across the length and breadth of the country. In order to win the Rickshaw Challenge, the participants will have to rely on the locals at each destination to guide them along. During the challenge, participants will eagerly look forward to a number of mini-races and challenges on a daily basis through which the contestants will also get the opportunity to form a meaningful connection to the places they are visiting.
Along the way, the participants will be making a difference in the lives of the underprivileged by raising funds for various projects of Round Table India under their Flagship programme ‘Freedom Through Education.’ MHRT-109 is the exclusive Charity Partner anchor for all the Rickshaw Rallies in Mysuru. The rally will reach Mysuru today (Aug.14) and will depart to Mangaluru tomorrow (Aug.15).
