The countdown has begun for the first Mysuru Literary Fest organised by the Mysore Literary Association on Sunday, June 18. The venue —Senate Bhavan — in the sprawling, beautiful Manasagangothri campus is getting spruced up as the literati and cognoscenti will descend in large numbers to listen and interact with some of the finest authors as this is what the Lit Fest is all about. As such, Star of Mysore is the natural media partner.

Ad Man R. V. Rajan
R.V. Rajan, Chairman, Anugrah Madison Advertising Pvt. Ltd., is a B.Com. (Hons.) from Bombay University with a PG Diploma in Advertising and PR from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bombay.
After an event-packed career start in Bombay (Clarion McCann) in 1964 and later with the multinational Kenyon Eckhart, Rajan became the CEO of a national ad agency, Advertising Consults India Ltd., or ACIL, a sister company of Clarion at 31.
His mid-years in life brought in all the changes after he moved to Chennai in 1974 to rejoin Grant Kenyon Eckhart. Rajan founded his own agency, Anugrah Marketing in 1986. He gradually developed a reputation for rural communication, based on his contributions to several agriculture-based clients such as Shaw Wallace, EID Parry, BASF and the MRF Farm Tyre Division. He was Founder-President of the Rural Marketing Association of India, set up in 2005.
While heading the Ad Club (1993-95), he started the first- ever professional post-graduate diploma course in advertising by any Ad Club in the country, which has been running successfully for 15 years. He has started writing freewheeling articles on a variety of subjects which are uploaded on his blog.
Rajan has recently published his autobiography titled ‘Courage my Companion,’ a candid fact-packed fast-moving description of his personal, professional and extra-curricular life. It makes for compelling and rewarding reading.
C.P. Belliappa, Wordsmith
C.P. Belliappa is a person with diverse interest and skills. He writes humour, history and human-interest stories, and is a regular contributor to newspapers, websites and magazines. He holds a Master’s degree in chemical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, USA.
Belliappa has authored many books focused mainly on Kodagu (Coorg) and its history. Tale of A Tiger’s Tail & Other Yarns from Coorg, Nuggets from Coorg History, Victoria Gowramma: The Lost Princess of Coorg, and Tongue of the Slip published by Rupa Publications are some of his popular works. He is an avid golfer, who lives in his coffee estate in Kodagu.
Son of the first Chief Minister of Kodagu (Coorg), late Cheppudira M. Poonacha, he is the President of the Coorg Institute of Technology (CIT), an engineering college in Ponnampet, Kodagu. Kaveri Nambisan, well-known Indian novelist writing in English, who is also participating in this Fest, is the sister of C.P. Belliappa.
