Mysuru, Nashua sign Twinning Agreement

Mysuru: Mysuru-born Nashua, New Hampshire Ward 8 State Representative, Latha Mangipudi expressed happiness with the twinning agreement signed between Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) and Nashua, New Hampshire State, here recently.

She was addressing a press conference at Pathrakartara Bhavan, in the presence of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) President A.S. Satish and former President R. Krishna here yesterday and said that both Mysuru and Nashua are known for their cleanliness.

Lauding the role of MCCI in bringing the two cities together, Latha Mangipudi said that the Mayor of Mysuru M.J. Ravikumar and Mayor of Nashua Jim Donchess had signed the Twinning Agreement for establishment of friendship and cooperation between the two cities.

The areas of cooperation include exchanging expertise and cooperation in the fields of service delivery, civic administration, land use planning and management, transport, shelter, education, culture, sports, waster water and solid waste management, infrastructure, urban renewal, urban and regional planning and related matters, she said.

Stressing on the strength of what Mysuru could offer, she said, since Mysuru is considered the yoga capital of the world, the awareness of its benefit needs to be spread in the US so that people working in the industries and IT companies can understand its many health benefits.

Also, her State is interested in looking at the Zoo animals in the famous Mysuru Zoo and see how best it can be developed with mutual cooperation.

The role of ISKCON in mitigating the hunger of poor children through their Akshaya Patra programme is also something that has interested her people in the US who are keen to come forward to implement it, said Latha Mangipudi.
