Mysuru Pandal for PM’s Dharmasthala visit on Sunday

Dharmasthala: A specially erected pandal provided by the Mysuru-based Shariff Furnitures will welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow during his visit to this temple town.

The pandal or shamiana incorporating the German Technology (German Stretcher) is a massive 130 ft X 300 ft one, which can accommodate nearly 50,000 people. Even if it rains heavily, not a drop would percolate and drench the audience, as it is completely waterproof.

Modi will visit Dharmasthala on Oct. 29 (Sunday) and have a darshan of  Lord Manjunatheshwara and offer special prayers.

Later, he will participate in the Srikshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development programme scheduled to be held near Ujjire at 11.45 am. Shariff Furniture from Mysuru has set up the massive pandal and the stage for the function and it is said to be the first of its kind in the country.

The  Special Protection Group (SPG) in charge of Prime Minister’s security has already arrived. The entry to the public has been banned from today (Oct.28) for two days and the SPG has taken over the entire place into its custody.

As a result, the public have been deprived of the darshan of Lord Manjunatheswara today and tomorrow.
