Mysore/Mysuru: South Western Railway (SWR) has announced that the Mysuru Rail Museum on KRS Road will be illuminated during the Dasara festivities commencing from Sept. 26 to Oct. 5. Visitors can have a breathtaking view of the illuminated large outdoor exhibits of the Rail Museum like the vintage steam locomotives, coaches, wagons, toy train, hand-operated crane, rail bus and steam fire pump.
The working hours of the Rail Museum will also be extended in this period by two hours, that is up to 8 pm. The Rail Museum will be open to the public on Sept. 27 and Oct. 4, which otherwise are declared holidays.
Photography using SLR/DSLR cameras will be on payment of the prescribed charges. Eatables and backpacks are not allowed inside the Rail Museum premises.
NOTE: Those who buy the Dasara combo ticket worth Rs. 500 (children – Rs. 250) to visit 5 prominent tourist places need not buy separate entry tickets as Rail Museum is also included in the recently launched special combo ticket for Dasara tourists.
