Sir,
Very recently I travelled to Mysuru from Bengaluru in Rajyarani Express. The train pulled up at 4th Platform but it was a surprising and a bit worrying sight to see passengers rushing into the steps forming huge crowds to go upwards either to check out from 1st or 6th Platform, in the Railway Station. Even the lift provision provided to both 4 and 5 Platforms seemed to bring no change as there was a rush for lift also.
Hence, I feel that another foot over-bridge is required for the Railway Station, which should not only have steps on one side but should have both opposite sides on Platforms 2, 3, 4 & 5 since they do not share an exit. And it should have common extension in extra, outside the 1st and 6th Platforms, for quick entry and exit for people, and should have common features like lifts, escalators at required Platforms, and ramp-ways also.
I feel that a modern and efficient Railway Station’s key aim is to provide fast approach to the train for people, and that is possible only by providing more number of foot over-bridges, subways, lifts, escalators, steps etc.
Will the Railway authorities think on it and arrive at a solution at the earliest for the benefit of commuters?
