Mysuru student selected to New York Academy

Mysuru: Karan K. Raj, a Class 8 student from Excel Public School, Mysuru, has been selected by The Junior Academy, an initiative of the New York Academy of Sciences’ Global STEM Alliance (GSA), into its fifth cohort.  

Karan has been invited to attend the Global STEM Alliance Summit in New York City in the summer of 2020. 

He is one among the 900 students from 64 countries and his area of exploration is Space Colonization, centred on Sustainable Habitat on Moon that can support human life. 

Karan will participate in the virtual four-week boot camp, followed by projects on collaboration platform, Launchpad.

Karan will be teaming up with students of Japan, Sweden, USA, Israel and New Zealand, and will design a solution to one of the global challenges.

Karan is the son of K.R. Nataraj and S. Shruthi, residents of Hootagalli, Mysuru.
