Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru Travels Association (MTA) yesterday held a vaccination drive to inoculate drivers and their family members, who had registered their names.
The day-long drive was launched by University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar at the Open Air Theatre in Manasagangothri campus.
Speaking after launching the drive, the Vice-Chancellor, who remembered his father who owned a bus and ran a travel agency, said that drivers play a crucial role as they are the ones, who ferry passengers to their destinations safely and added that as the drivers too come in contact of public, they should have been vaccinated much earlier.
MTA President Shivalingappa, Hon. Presidents B.S. Prashanth and C.A. Jayakumar, Vice-President David Raj, Secretary A.C. Ravi, Mohan Kumar and others were present.
