New Delhi: Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, son of the late Uttarakhand Chief Minister N.D. Tiwari, passed away yesterday.
According to Joint Commissioner, Delhi Police, Devesh Shrivastava, Rohit was reportedly admitted to the hospital after he suffered a nose bleed. He was immediately rushed to the Max Hospital in an ambulance, but was declared brought dead.
His mother Ujjwala Tiwari was also admitted to the same hospital where she received a call from their home about her son being “unwell and bleeding from nose,” he said.
“Max Hospital received an emergency call from the residence of Rohit Shekhar Tiwari at 4.41 pm this afternoon. An ambulance brought Tiwari to Max Hospital, Saket, where he was declared ‘brought dead.’ As per established procedure, we have informed the authorities,” said a statement issued by the hospital yesterday. Police have seized Rohit’s Defence Colony residence. Investigators are searching the house to look for reasons behind the death.
It may be recalled that Rohit had filed the paternity suit in 2007 and seven years later, N.D. Tiwari accepted him as his son after a Court order and a DNA test revealed that he is Rohit’s biological father. N.D. Tiwari had passed away in 2018.
