Mysore/Mysuru: Rotary Kadamba Award will be conferred on senior theatre artistes N. Nagachandra and D. Nagendra Kumar at a programme to be held at Rotary Auditorium on JLB Road here on Mar. 12 at 6.30 pm.
Addressing at a press meet yesterday, Kadamba Ranga Vedike President Rajashekhar Kadamba said, “Vedike in association with Rotary Mysuru North has organised this programme. Every year, Vedike has been honouring noted theatre personalities with exceptional achievements. Former Rotary Governor G.K. Balakrishna will present the award to these two senior theatre artistes. Rotary Mysuru North President M.J. Swamy and Zone-8 Assistant Governor B. Ramaradhya will be the chief guests.”
Founder of Apravarambe theatre group, N. Nagachandra began his journey with theatre at an young age of 15. He has been a member of Nataka Academy and has successfully staged numerous plays including Chinada Thota, Haralaiah, Chora Charanadasa and Krishna Sandhana.
Versatile actor D. Nagendra Kumar, who has conquered the hearts of theatre lovers, is the founder of theatre group Nadaranga. He has trained as well as inspired many young artistes and has provided music for numerous plays.
