Mysore/Mysuru: St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru, conducted a two-day Orientation Workshop on NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) preparedness for NAAC Criteria Leaders and Team Members on Nov. 18 and 19 at the College Auditorium in city.
The programme was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as part of the institution’s Oak Jubilee Year initiatives.
The workshop was inaugurated on Nov. 18 at 9.30 am in the presence of distinguished dignitaries. The inaugural session was graced by Rev. Fr. Lourdu Prasad Joseph, Rector & Manager, who presided over the ceremony.
A. Thomas Gunaseelan, IQAC Coordinator, welcomed the gathering. Ronald Prakash Cutinha, Vice-Principal (Administration), was present.
The sessions were led by the eminent resource person Rev. Fr. Gigi Thomas, Dean of Studies, Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum, who provided insightful guidance on NAAC processes, criteria-based evaluation and strategies for institutional preparedness. His expertise enriched the participants’ understanding of accreditation standards and quality benchmarks.
The workshop witnessed active participation from NAAC Criteria Leaders and Team Members of the College. Interactive discussions, practical orientations and collaborative exercises enabled participants to gain clarity on documentation, assessment procedures and quality sustenance measures.
The programme was coordinated by A. Thomas Gunaseelan, IQAC Coordinator and Dr. V. Deepa, IQAC Co-Coordinator, with meticulous planning and execution.
The workshop concluded with a renewed commitment among the faculty and staff to uphold the values of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement in higher education.
