Sri Siddeshwara Swamiji of Vijayapura and Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji blessing the gathering at the ‘Satsang’ held at the residence of Prakash Totigoudar at Denver in Colorado, USA, recently.

Mysuru: Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji has said that everyone must accept sorrow and happiness equally.

He was speaking at the ‘Satsang’ programme organised at the residence of Prakash Totigoudar at Denver in Colorado, USA recently.

Maintaining that one should consider every work as service to God which would in turn bring success, the Seer said that the recitation of Naama Smarane or remembering the name of God is essential for leading a peaceful life.

Sri Siddeshwara Swamiji, who also spoke on the occasion, explained the significance of Basavanna’s ‘kayaka’ (work), and said that everyone should develop inner and outer purity of being with equanimity.

Pointing out that none can claim ownership of the earth, he stressed on the need to have bondage with nature to lead a meaningful life.

Observing that wealth has the tendency to make one forget about the past, he said that wealth should be used but not controlled by it.

Explaining on the need for everyone to develop a feeling that he/she is a servant of nature, Sri Siddeshwara Swamiji underlined the need for Satsang to be in the company of highest truth.

Highlighting that peace, patience and gratification lays the foundation for practicing ‘Satsang,’ he said that while Basavanna called Satsanga as ‘Sharana Jeevana,’ Aurobindo called it as ‘Life Divine.’

Dr. Hanumappa Vishweshwaraiah welcomed. Prakash Totigoudar proposed a vote of thanks.
