Mysore/Mysuru: Laya Vidya Prathishtana and Sangeetha Kalavidara Balaga, Mysuru, have jointly organised a Nada Namana programme on Dec. 18 at 6 pm at Mysore K. Vasudevacharya Bhavana, Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru, to pay tributes to Vid. C.N. Thyagaraju, who breathed his last recently in Mysuru.
Vid. C.N. Thyagaraju, born into a traditional family of musicians, got his initial training from his father Vid. Narayana Rao and later trained under his brother, Vid. C.N. Chandrashekar, a renowned violinist.
He also did his Graduation and Post Graduation in Music from Madras University. He had taught to a number of disciples at Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, Singapore and returned to Mysuru and was performing and teaching. He had accompanied many senior artistes and was adept in keyboard, veena etc. besides, violin, vocal music and flute.
Laya Lahari, an instrumental music ensemble, will be held under the guidance of Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy supported by Vid. N.N. Ganesh Kumar on violin and tributes will be paid by musicians, music-lovers and disciples of Vid. C.N. Thyagaraju on the occasion.
