Mysuru: City’s Namma Mysuru Foundation carried out a ‘Swachchhata Abhiyan’ (cleanliness drive) at the Government School for the Deaf & Dumb and the Blind at Bamboo Bazar in city yesterday.
The members of the Foundation along with the employees of D.K. Constructions, CADD Station Technology (P) Ltd., CAT Solution (P) Ltd. and students from Vijaya Vittala School and Bhagini Seva Samaja, cleaned up the bushes grown in vacant spaces of the school premises.
The grown up bushes and plants were proving to be a hurdle to free movement of the school students.
Mysuru Foundation Managing Trustee Dasharath, who spoke on the occasion, said that he saw grown up bushes in the premises when he visited the school for distributing sweets to the children a few days ago.
Realising that the school, meant for differently-abled children was full of grown up bushes, which was a hurdle for free movement of the children, he launched this drive to make the school free of bushes, plants and garbage. Foundation’s Founder Trustee C.R. Pavitra, Trustees M.J. Veeresh, N. Mallesh, M.V. Kalyan, K. Anuradha, B.N. Sriraj, N.S. Rangaraju, K.N. Ramesh, R. Niharika, A.M. Chandan and others were present.
