Mysore/Mysuru: The Lakshmipuram Police have booked a case against a woman Government D-Group employee of Nanjangud for obstructing work at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here and also threatening to file a sexual harassment case against officials.
Madhu, a D-Group employee serving at Nanjangud Taluk Office, is the one who has been booked by the Police for her alleged outrageous behaviour.
Madhu is accused of displaying abusive behaviour against Shirastedar Badarinarayan at the DC office on Jan. 30 and also threatening to commit suicide after leaving behind a death note blaming sexual harassment by officials for her death.
A complaint lodged with the jurisdictional Lakshmipuram Police said that Madhu, after displaying offensive behaviour, entered the ADC’s chamber and threatened to tear away her clothes and lodge a sexual harassment case if she was not immediately transferred from Nanjangud to the DC’s office here.
This apart, Madhu intruded the DC office at 9.45 pm the same day and stayed there throughout the night, when she had a verbal altercation with the Control Room staff and the Police who arrived at the spot to convince her. She also attempted to assault the staff and tried to destroy Government records, the complaint said.
The complaint further said that Madhu, who had come to the DC office earlier on Jan. 27 too, got engaged in a verbal duel with Shirastedar Suresh Kumar.
She had threatened to charge Suresh Kumar with seeking money, if she was not transferred to the Deputy Commissioner’s office at Mysuru. She had also warned of staging an indefinite stir at the ADC’s office chamber itself if she was not immediately transferred to Mysuru.
Based on the complaint, Lakshmipuram Police have booked a case against her under IPC Sections 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 448 (Punishment for house-trespass) and 426 (Punishment for mischief).
