Nanjangud temple records Rs. 1.35 crore hundi collection

131 grams gold jewellery, 4.1 kg silver and 35 foreign currencies

Nanjangud: The famed Srikanteshwaraswamy temple of Nanjangud town has recorded a hundi (offerings box) collection of Rs. 1.35 crore.

The 34 hundis of the temple were opened on Friday and counting was taken up in the presence of authorities, when a cash of Rs. 1,35,58,975, 131 grams of gold jewellery, 4.1 kg of silver articles and 35 foreign currencies were found.

 Bank of Baroda and temple staff, members of women self-help groups and other personnel did the counting in the presence of temple AEO Venkatesh Prasad, Dinesh, Srividyanatheshwara, Accounts Officer Gurumallaiah, Bank Manager T.K. Nayak and others.
