Nanjangud temple records Rs. 2.15 cr. hundi collection

Banned currency notes of Rs. 500 too found

Nanjangud: The famed Srikanteshwara temple in the temple town of Nanjangud has recorded a hundi collection of Rs. 2.15 crore.

All the 21 hundis of the temple were opened  and counted on Friday, during which  Rs. 2,15, 80,467 was found in cash.

This apart, 108 gms of gold, 5.75 kg of silver and 29 foreign currency notes were found. Also, 64 banned currency notes of face value Rs.500 was discovered.

The staff of Bank of Baroda, members of women self-help groups and the temple staff took part in the counting.
