Mysuru: Ganabharathi, in association with Raasavrunda, has organised ‘Narthana Namana’ programme (in memory of late Saraswathamma) by Mohiniyattam artiste Dr. Kalamandalam Rachita Ravi of Kerala tomorrow (Feb.26) at 6.30 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar.
Profile: Dr. Kalamandalam Rachita Ravi, a gifted dancer, has rich experience in the field of Mohiniyattam as a performer and choreographer. She is the disciple of Guru and Mohiniyattam exponent Prof. Kalamandalam Leelamma.
She is the recipient of Ustad Bismilla Khan Yuva Puraskar by the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi and is a graded artiste of Doordarshan. Presently, she is the Course Coordinator in PG section at Kerala Kalamandalam.
Rachita Ravi was awarded Doctoral Degree for her thesis “The Scientific Foundation of Mohiniyattam – A Detailed Study Based on Balaramabharatham” from Kerala Kalamandalam.
She has been performing in several venues both in India and abroad and has been participating Research Papers in National Seminars and conducting workshops and lec-dems.
