Mysuru: The Mysore Brothers, Vid. Mysore Nagaraj and Dr. Mysore Manjunath, acclaimed Indian Classical Violinists hailing from Mysuru, are selected for the prestigious ‘Sri Jayendra Saraswathi National Eminence Award’ by Sri Shanmukhanada Fine Arts of Mumbai.
The award ceremony is scheduled to be held at Sri Shanmukhanda Hall in Mumbai on Dec. 8. Previous awardees are Padma Bhusan T.V. Gopalkrishnan, Padma Vibhushan T.V. Shankara Narayan, Padma Shri Dr. N. Ramani and Prof. T.N. Krishnan.
Renowned for their exceptional technical prowess, emotional depth and unique musical style, Vid. Nagaraj-Dr. Manjunath have captivated audiences worldwide. Trained under the tutelage of their father, S. Mahadevappa, the duo has garnered critical acclaim for their innovative approach to Karnatak Music.
Their mesmerising Jugalbandi performances and collaborations with diverse musicians have further solidified their position as leading figures in the world of Classical Music.
The Mysore Violin Brothers have been honoured with prestigious awards, including the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Sangeetha Choodamani, Sangeetha Samrat and Sangeetha Vidwanmani, etc. in recognition of their significant contribution to the rich heritage of Indian Classical Music.
