Mysuru/Mysore: The National Lok Adalat will be held under the aegis of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in the district from Feb.8. Announcing this at a press meet at the DLSA Office in the new Courts Complex in Malalavadi (Jayanagar) here this morning, Principal District and Sessions Judge Suresh K. Vontigodi said that the National Lok Adalat will take place at all the Courts in the district on Feb. 8, Apr. 11, July 11, Sept. 12 and on Dec. 12.
Stating that 35 to 40 benches would be put exclusively at all Courts for the Lok Adalat, Judge Vontigodi said that the Lok Adalat will provide a platform to resolve cases related to monetary disputes, domestic disharmony, bank loan recovery, reinstation of staff, labour disputes, wage disputes, landed properties, issues pertaining to power, water and other utility bills etc., which could be compromised.
Stating that the Lok Adalat would save time, money, maintain good relationship between the litigants and the respondents and find solution to disputes, the Judge appealed to the public to utilise the opportunity.
DLSA Member-Secretary B.P. Devamane, Mysore Bar Association President S. Anand Kumar, Secretary Shivanna and others were present at the press meet.
