Mysuru: Nagarajan Srinivasan, Start-up Advisor and Mentor, who was the chief guest of the two-day National Conference — Pratibimb-2018 organised by the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering, The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, said that the current competitive world demands technological excellence and innovation. The top three countries in the world that is into excellent innovation are the US, Israel and China. China has the highest number of patenting.
India should have a master plan focussing on technology excellence and research and development. A proven technology capability and strong R & D builds huge intellectual capital, Nagarajan opined.
Complimenting the Department for organising Pratibimb-2018, he gave a call to students to develop research acumen and publish papers in international forums.
‘Pratibimb – 2018’ was sponsored by TEQIP III for Academia and Industry. The coordinators of the Conference received 50 technical papers and the papers were passed through a screening committee which comprised Professors of the Department.
In all, 45 papers were selected for the presentation. The participants were research scholars, PG students and UG students from various engineering colleges of the State.
Dr. G. Ravi, Principal of the Institute, appreciated the conference. Dr. G.L. Shekar, Professor of I&P Engineering Department, welcomed. Dr. K.M. Subbaiah proposed a vote of thanks.
