Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Post Graduate Studies in Swasthavritta, JSS Ayurveda Medical College (JSS AMC), Mysuru, in association with Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi and SKRSPM Sri Veda Vyasa Yoga Pratishtana, Mysuru, had organised a day-long National Seminar on Yoga and Ayurveda as a prelude to International Day of Yoga at the college premises here recently.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Kashinath Samagandi, Director, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi, who highlighted about Yoga Certification Board, its aim and objectives.
The first scientific session was delivered by Dr. Arpan A. Bhatt, Chairman, Assessment Committee, Yoga Certification Board, New Delhi, on the topic ‘The Yoga Blueprint: Mapping your Swasthavritta journey.’
The second session was by Dr. Ulka Natu Gadam, Embryologist and Yoga Expert, University of Mumbai, on the topic ‘Ancient Wisdom, Modern Application: Yoga and Garbha Samskara.’
The third scientific session was by Dr. K. Raghavendra Pai, Secretary, Sri Veda Vyasa Yoga Pratishtana, Mysuru, on the topic ‘The Impact of Yoga on Student Concentration and Academic performance.’
The Department conducted elocution competition on Ayurveda and Yoga for 2nd year BAMS students. Certificates and prizes were distributed for winners. Dr. Sarbeswarkar, Principal, JSS AMC, presided. More than 150 delegates participated in the programme.
