Padmapriya Ramesh Kumar has emerged victorious in both the singles and doubles categories at the Under-12 National Series Tennis Tournament held at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy (SMTA) in Hyderabad recently.
In the intense singles battle between Padmapriya, who represented Karnataka and Joha Khureshi from Telangana, Padmapriya scored 6-3 and 6-2 points, clinching singles title.
In the doubles section, Padmapriya paired with Sarah Fengs from Maharashtra and the pair trounced Kanishka Govind from Tamil Nadu who paired with Mairashaik from Maharashtra by scoring 6-4, 6-2.
Her outstanding performance at the tournament has propelled her to 3rd rank in the All India Under-12 category, marking a significant milestone in her flourishing tennis career. Padmapriya’s dual victories highlight her exceptional skill and determination on the court, positioning her as a rising star in Indian tennis.
In 2023, she took part in the prestigious National Series Tennis Tournament for Under-12 age category at the renowned Ash Tennis Academy in Hyderabad. Here, in the doubles category, the duo of Padmapriya Ramesh Kumar and Srishti Kiran, both hailing from Karnataka, emerged victorious, displaying exceptional teamwork and coordination.
Padmapriya Ramesh Kumar is currently studying in the 7th standard at Excel Public School in Mysuru. She is the daughter of Dr. Malathi Priya, Conservator of Forests (CF), Mysuru Circle and Dr. P. Ramesh Kumar, Conservator of Forests (Project Tiger), Mysuru.
