Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Wushu Association and Mysuru Wushu Association have organised Khelo India State Women’s Wushu League at Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium in Nazarbad here on Aug.29.
Addressing presspersons at Patrakartara Bhavan in the city, General Secretary of Mysuru Wushu Association M.A. Dharma said that the event is being simultaneously organised at more than 25 States on Aug.29 to mark the National Sports Day.
In Karnataka, the Championship is being held at Mysuru which will be inaugurated by Royal Family member Trishikha Kumari Wadiyar at 10 am.
MLAs G.T. Devegowda, G.D. Harish Gowda and K. Harish-gowda will participate as chief guests. Deputy Commissioner Dr. K.V. Rajendra, ZP CEO K.M. Gayathri, SP Seema Latkar and others will also participate.
The contest will be held in Sub-Junior (7 – 14 years), Junior (14 – 18 years) and senior (above 18 years) categories. Winners will be selected to participate in South Zone Championship. Ashoka D. Mokashi, General Secretary, Karnataka Wushu Association; Dr. Veeranna C. Charantimath, President, Karnataka Wushu Association and Dr. Raju V. Naikar, President, Bagalkot District Wushu Association will be present.
Former ZP member Chandrika Suresh released the poster during the press meet attended by Mysuru’s youngest Wushu Champion G. Pranathi, Wushu Coach H.S. Partipa, Akshata and S.D. Giridhar.
