Mysore/Mysuru: To equip teachers to be digitally smart and technologically sound, St. Joseph’s College of Education, Mysuru, under IQAC, had organised a National-level one-week Webinar on ‘Digital Platforms for Teaching and Learning,’ in collaboration with PKM College of Education, Kannur, Kerala, from May 19 to 25.
Dr. Priya Mathew, Principal, St. Joseph’s College of Education and the Convener of this programme, briefed about the significance of providing a common platform for the integration of educators from all over the country through this webinar marking the Golden Jubilee year celebrations of the College.
The sub-themes of the webinar included e-content development; Learning Management System; Virtual Classrooms; Cloud Applications; Web Presentations and Web Publishing; Online applications for Research Methodology; Digital Assessment; Editing softwares and applications.
“Life is uncertain and full of challenges. Let us equip ourselves technologically and accept the challenges” was the message by Rev. Fr. Vijay Kumar, Secretary and Correspondent, MDES, in his inaugural address.
Afza Fathima, Assistant Professor, St. Joseph’s College of Education and Assistant Coordinator of the Webinar, introduced M.K. Naseerali, Assistant Professor, author and trainer in Educational Technology, Aligarh Muslim University Centre, Malappuram, Kerala, who was the Resource Person of the webinar.
The felicitation address was delivered by Dr. Sr. Jessy, Principal, PKM College of Education. Seby Mavely, CEO, Training and Development, MDES, was present. Asha P. Pathrose, IQAC Co-ordinator of the institution and Coordinator of the webinar, proposed a vote of thanks. Every day, the sessions were from 11 am to 1 pm and over 300 participants attended.
