Naval Veterans Association celebrates Navy Day in city

Mysore/Mysuru: Indian Navy Day, celebrated on December 4, commemorates the success of Operation Trident, a decisive Naval action on Karachi Harbour during the 1971 lndo-Pak War, showcasing the Indian Navy’s bravery, strategic role and growing self-reliance. The Day honours the sacrifices of Naval personnel and highlights the Navy’s vital contributions.

To commemorate Indian Navy Day, Naval Veterans Association, Mysuru Revenue Division, had organised Naval Veterans Milan on Dec. 14 at a hotel in city.

Many Naval Veterans, some of them who had been part of the Indo-Pak War and their families around Karnataka, attended the event.

On the occasion, Rear Admiral Ravi Gaikwad, Chief Patron of Naval Veterans Association, Mysuru and K.P. Somanna, President, Akhila Karnataka Maaji Sainikara Sangha, Kodagu district, were felicitated for their support, guidance and contribution towards Naval Veterans and families.

During the event, Gajanan T. Bhat (President, Naval Veterans Association, Mysuru), K.P. Uthappa (Vice-President), B.S. Chandra Kumar (Joint Secretary), M.N. Naveen Kumar (Treasurer), R. Rajesh, Sanjay Prabhu and Syed T. Hyderi (Organising Secretaries) were present along with N. Alagarswamy, Local Coordinator of Veterans Sailors Forum, Mysuru.
