Navy Day is celebrated on Dec. 4 every year to recognise the achievements of the Indian Navy and its role in the country. Dec. 4 was chosen as on that day in 1971, during Operation Trident, the Indian Navy sank four Pakistani vessels including PNS Khaibar, defeating the Pakistani Navy.
