NCISM-MARBISM President Dr. U. Raghurama Bhatta tells students at JSS Ayurveda Medical College

Mysore/Mysuru: Various degrees were conferred on successful graduates during the Graduation Day (Vishikhanupravesh) of JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Mysuru, held at its premises in Lalithadripura here on Friday.

Dr. U. Raghurama Bhatta, President, Medical Assessment and Rating Board for Indian System of Medicine (MARBISM), National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), New Delhi, handed over degree certificates to Post-Graduate (PG) and Under-Graduate (UG) students at the Ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bhatta said: “Learning is a continuous process and one cannot stop studying after becoming a graduate or post-graduate. It is only with continuous practice that one can sharpen their skills in a profession. Hence, after obtaining degree, the students should devote more time towards their profession.”

The knowledge of Sanskrit considered as soothing to hear is essential for the study of Ayurveda. Even more researches related to Ayurveda is conducted in Sanskrit. To study and understand the meaning of shlokas, the knowledge of Sanskrit is essential, said Dr. Bhatta explaining the significance of Sanskrit language. He also lauded the students for taking the pledge in Sanskrit.

A total of 17 Post-Graduate (PG) and 93 Under-Graduate (UG) Degree holders received certificates at the Graduation Day Ceremony. In UG category, Dr. M. Spandana received Jeevika Award, Best Outgoing and Topper Award (Outgoing) along with certificates. Dr. Sanjana received ‘Ayurvishaada’ Award and Topper Award along with certificates.

In PG category, Dr. S. Athriya, Dr. Anuradha and Dr. G. Sindhu emerged as toppers, while Best Outgoing Award was secured by Dr. S. Radhika and Best Outgoing Internee Award by Dr. Nagaraj.

JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Medical Education Division Director R. Mahesh, Dean Dr. Rajesh A. Udapudi, Principal Dr. Sarbeswar Kar, PG Department Convener Dr. M.D. Beena, Internal Convener Dr. D. Sandhyarani and Dr. B.G. Madhusudhan were present.
