Need hand railings along Chamundi Hill steps

Sir,

The stairway at Chamundi Hill, comprising over 1,000 steps, requires the installation of hand railings. The inclusion of hand railings would offer substantial support, especially to the elderly, reducing strain and aiding in maintaining balance both on the ascent and descent.

Notably, certain sections of the stairway feature steps with a height exceeding the usual, leading to visible challenges for senior citizens who often find themselves panting and struggling to negotiate the increased height. The introduction of hand railings would undeniably alleviate this difficulty, providing much-needed relief and conserving energy during the climb.

It is perplexing why such a beneficial amenity has not been addressed over the years. I hope that the district authorities — including the Deputy Commissioner, local MLA and the Muzrai Department — will accord priority to this matter and take necessary steps to implement hand railings along the Chamundi Hill stairway.
