Mysore/Mysuru: Ending months of anxiety and speculation, thousands of Under-Graduate Medical and Dental seat aspirants appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) this morning at 15 centres across the city. The centres in city included SDM College for Women in Krishnamurthypuram, Mahajana College in Jayalakshmipuram, Maharaja’s and Teresian Colleges.
The exam was held amid COVID-19 safety measures, with students allowed to enter the exam hall only after thermal screening. Students who showed symptoms were made to sit in a separate room for the exam.
Mysuru City Police had clamped prohibitory orders in 200 mts radius around all the fifteen exam centres.
National Testing Agency (NTA) has been authorised to conduct the exam for admission to Medical (MBBS) and Dental (BDS) courses in colleges across the country. In Karnataka, other than Mysuru, NEET was conducted at Bengaluru, Belagavi, Davanagere, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Mangaluru, Hubballi and Udupi.
