T. Narasipur: A fight, which began over chicken entering the house and making the place dirty, reportedly ended in the murder of a man, who had intervened to stop the fight.
The incident took place at Doddebagilu village in the taluk and the deceased has been identified as Mahadevaswamy of the village, who was residing along with his wife and children Manya and Sinchana.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 27 morning, when Mahadevaswamy’s wife was washing vessels in front of the house, one Nanjamma was talking to her and was standing in front of the house, when neighbours Rajamma and her mother Siddamma told Nanjamma that her chicken were entering their house and dirtying the place. They then abused her using foul language and pushed her here and there.
Mahadevaswamy’s wife, who saw Nanjamma being pushed and pulled, stopped washing the vessels and went to the rescue of Nanjamma. But Siddamma caught the hair of Mahadevaswamy’s wife and began to pull. In the meantime, Rajamma, picked up a stone lying nearby and assaulted Mahadevaswamy’s wife causing injuries to her left eye, it is learnt.
Meanwhile, Mahadevaswamy, who saw his wife being assaulted rushed to her rescue, only to be confronted by Rajamma and Siddamma, who caught his hair and began to pull it besides hitting him on his private parts resulting in Mahadevaswamy falling on the ground.
After sometime, Mahadevaswamy’s family members rushed towards him and tried to wake him up only to feel that his body had turned cold and he had stopped breathing.
Based on the complaint from Mahadevaswamy’s wife, T. Narasipur Police, have registered a case. Superintendent of Police (SP) N. Vishnuvardhana, Additional SP Nagesh, Dy.SP Raghu and Circle Inspector Dhananjaya visited the spot and conducted preliminary enquiry.
