NEP boosts confidence to face challenges, provides job security: Former VC

Mysore/Mysuru: Hindustan First Grade College celebrated its first Graduation Day at a private hotel in city recently.

M.S. Suryanarayana, Associate Vice-President and Centre Head (Development), Infosys, Chennai, was the guest of honour. Prof. K.S. Rangappa, former Vice-Chancellor (VC), University of Mysore (UoM), was the chief guest. Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Managing Trustee, Hindustan First Grade College, presided. Ashok Verghese, Director, Hindustan Group of Institutions, Prof. S.N. Hegde, former VC, UoM, Dr. Suresha, Governing Council Member and Dr. C.J. Priya, Principal, Hindustan First Grade College, were present on the stage.

N. Namratha (B.Com 2020 Batch – 5 Gold Medals), Mohammed Shakeel (B.Com 2020 – 4 Gold), N. Pooja (B.Com 2019 – 4 Gold), Om Kishan S. Juttur (B.Com 2019 – 1 Gold), H.R. Sanjay Kumar (BBA 2020 – 1 Gold) and Harshitha (BCA 2020 – 1 Gold) received the Dr. K.C.G. Verghese Gold Medal for securing 100/100 in University exams and for being subject toppers. 

Prof. Rangappa, in his address, said, “The new National Education Policy (NEP) will help children to learn skills from school level. NEP is very effective for the 21st Century as it also boosts confidence to face challenges and provide job security.” 

He advised students to indulge in everyday learning process as graduation is not mere end                         of learning. 

Suryanarayana spoke on the importance of perceiving dreams citing the examples of great people like Steve Jobs and advised the graduates to chase their dreams and be a pioneer in creating revolution.

In all, 62 candidates, who have cleared the examinations conducted by the UoM, received Course Completion Certificate during the Graduation  Day celebrations.

Hindustan College, Mysuru, was founded by Hindustan Group of Institutions, Chennai, to fulfil the vision of its Founder-Chairman late  Dr. K.C.G. Verghese.
