Mysore/Mysuru: The new buildings of Seshadripuram Institute of Technology (SIT), Mysuru, under the Seshadripuram Educational Trust (SET), were inaugurated at Kadakola Industrial Area, Mysuru, recently.
The institute is established on a 10-acre campus with modern infrastructure including laboratories, a central library, hostel facilities for over 800 students and sports amenities.
SIT Mysuru offers engineering programmes in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME), with a focus on technology-driven and skill-oriented education.
Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and Swami Muktidanandaji graced the inauguration along with VTU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vidyashankar and other dignitaries.
Nadoja Woodey P. Krishna, Honorary General Secretary of SET, in his welcome address, emphasised the importance of quality technical education and reiterated the Trust’s commitment to producing skilled engineers. He noted that the Trust, established in 1944, currently manages 34 institutions across Karnataka, with around 1,500 faculty members and over 26,000 students.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vidyashankar highlighted the importance of internships, industry collaboration and innovative learning, stressing that design and critical thinking are essential.
He noted that Artificial Intelligence can be applied across all disciplines and advised students to avoid peer pressure while choosing courses, underscoring the strong future demand for core branches like Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.
SET President N.R. Pandith Aradhya presided. M.S. Nataraj proposed a vote of thanks.
