Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah inaugurated the newly constructed gallery at D. Devaraja Urs Multipurpose Stadium here yesterday.
The gallery has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 4 lakh. After inaugurating the new seating facility, CM Siddharamaiah watch the wrestling bout for more than an hour after wishing good for all the wrestlers.
Later, addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah said that he was a great admirer of the traditional wrestling and had been following the sport since his childhood.
At this time, the Dasara Wrestling Committee requested the Siddharamaiah to increase the prize money for the winners.
Responding immediately, Siddharamaiah assured the committee that the prize money for Dasara Kanteera would be increased to Rs. 50,000, Rs. 30,000 Dasara Kesari. He also added that State Government would also provide TA/DA for wrestling coming from various districts and States.
