Mysuru: The eagerly awaited new Jayadeva Hospital that has come up on KRS Road near Kumbarakoppal Gate, will open its door to the public in July end and the equipment necessary for heart check-up and operation are being installed at a fast pace, said Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research Director Dr. C. N. Manjunath.
Speaking after inspecting the new equipment being installed, he said that the Government had given a grant of Rs.150 crore for the three-storey hospital built on a 15-acre plot.
The 350-bed Hospital was inaugurated in March by former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah. The Institute has invested an additional Rs.60 crore from its own funds to buy the equipment. Already the work on the installation of the equipment is going on at a brisk pace. Some more state-of-the art equipment is also being installed, he said.
It has four operation theatres, four Cardiac Cathlab, 60-bed three Intensive Coronary Units, Cardiac CT and MRI facilities. It also has general wards, special wards, deluxe wards, Echo unit, TMT unit and other facilities, he said. In the ground floor there are the waiting rooms, resting rooms, dispensary, bank, General Outpatient Department, Special Outpatient Department, laboratory and other facilities.
The work on all the facilities must be completed by July first week and by the end of July the hospital must start functioning, Dr. Manjunath told the engineers and the representatives of the equipment manufacturers.
