Mysuru: In yet another gift to Railway commuters of the city and Bengaluru, especially those travelling to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), the South Western Railway (SWR) will be introducing a new MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Units) daily train between Mysuru and Yelahanka.
The new service begins from Mysuru (Train No.06562) on Dec.16 and from Yelahanka (Train No. 06561) on Dec.17. Train No.06562 leaves Mysuru at 22.20 hours and reaches Yelahanka at 01.30 hours.
On it’s return journey, Train No.06561 leaves Yelahanka at 02.30 hours and reaches Mysuru at 05.35 hours.
The train is scheduled to stop at Mandya, Kengeri, KSR Bengaluru City and Yeswanthpur.
This night train is expected to be of huge benefit for those catching early morning flights at KIA. At present, most of the passengers travelling to KIA rely on Mysuru-Chennai Kaveri Express which leaves Mysuru at 21.00 hours or Bengaluru Passenger train which leaves Mysuru at 23.55 hours.
