Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Women and Child Development Deputy Director K. Padma has urged all Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) running Children Care Homes to provide all necessary documents and complete the registration process.
Speaking after inaugurating a one-day training programme for registered Children Care Homes on the topic ‘Documents and forms to be furnished by Children Care Homes, under Section 77 of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and Act 2016’ in city recently, she urged all NGOs to maintain all necessary documents enlisted according to the Act. The day-long training programme was organised by District Administration in association with Zilla Panchayat, Department of Women and Child Development and District Child Protection Unit at Ideal Jawa Rotary Centre on JLB Road here.
“You might think that the Act is applicable to only Government institutions and not NGOs, which is not true. The Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 is applicable to all Government as well as NGOs running Children Care Homes. They must provide all necessary documents to complete the registration process,” she said.
District Child Protection Officer Dr. S. Diwakar was the resource person.
