NIE-IT students shine at TECHKNOW-2017

Mysuru: The final year students of the Department of ISE and EEE, NIE Institute Technology (NIE-IT), Mysuru, have bagged the special first place jury award for their unique project titled “Application of smart control mechanism to maintain hygiene is public rest rooms” at  TECHKNOW-2017, a National level project competition organised by All India Manufacturers Organisation in collaboration with Anna University, Chennai.

In all, there were about 1,500 entries and the participants were subjected to rigorous scrutiny by an eminent panel with regard to originality, plagiarism, societal relevance etc. Out of this only 100 entries were selected and 12 teams were shortlisted for the awards.  

Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao distributed the cash prizes and certificates to students at a function held at Guindy College of Engineering, Chennai, on Apr.18. The NIE-IT team included  G. Krishna, K.A. Rakesh, C.D. Malathi of EEE Department; M. Sagar Navdeep and N. Snehanag of Information Science.
