Mysuru/Mysore: Following complaints from the public that a few auto drivers were refusing to come to their desired destinations with a few even demanding excess fares, the Mysuru City Traffic Police, who conducted ‘Operation Decoy’against autorickshaws for refusing to go for hire and for demanding excess fares, yesterday, have registered a total of 26 cases, collected a fine of Rs. 13,000 and have seized nine autos which did not have valid documents.
The special drive was conducted near City Railway Station, K.R. Hospital, Babu Jagjivan Ram Circle, Sir M. Visvesvaraya Circle, Nehru Circle, Meelad Park Junction and RMC Junction with the Police posing as customers.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of DCP (Crime and Traffic) B.T. Kavitha and ACP (Traffic).
