Nirmala Mathapati appointed as Nataka Academy Registrar

Mysore/Mysuru: Rangayana Deputy Director Nirmala Mathapati has been appointed as the Registrar of Karnataka Nataka Academy as per the orders dated July 9, 2024 issued by K.R. Ramesh, Under-Secretary to the Government, Department of Kannada and Culture.

Nirmala has served in Rangayana for three terms as the Deputy Director (2009-13, 2016-17 and 2022-24). She was also instrumental in organising eight Bahuroopi National Theatre Festivals and one International Theatre Festival at Rangayana. Earlier, she had served as the Assistant Director, Department of Kannada Culture in Mysuru and was also the Administrative Officer at Chamarajendra Government College of Visual Arts (CAVA) in city.

Speaking to Star of Mysore, Nirmala Mathapati thanked the Department of Kannada and Culture for giving her the opportunity to serve in Mysuru and neighbouring districts. “It was nice to work in Mysuru. Having been a part of various Committees during Dasara and also Bahuroopi National Theatre Festival has been a great experience,” she said.
