Bengaluru: CM B.S. Yediyurappa has reiterated that licenced miners and stone-crushing units in the State would not be affected by the crackdown on illegal mining.
“I have directed the officers not to take any action on licenced miners and those who have valid permits. Such miners do not have to fear the law,” he told the Assembly on Tuesday. It is not possible to impose a blanket ban on mining as it will hinder construction and development works, he said. All the miners are required to submit their permits and documents to the Deputy Commissioners and officials will inspect the spot to certify the legality. Only then, licences would be issued, he said.
