Hassan: Amidst speculations that the State Government might advance the Assembly elections to December this year, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah has said that the polls would be held in April-May 2018.
Speaking to press persons here on Sunday, Siddharamaiah asserted that there was no plan to call snap poll. The Assembly election will be held in 2018 after completion of full term of the Government, he said and blamed the BJP leaders for unnecessarily creating confusion about the polls.
Rubbishing BJP State President B.S. Yeddyurappa’s prediction that the elections would be advanced, Siddharamaiah said that the Congress is prepared to face the elections and the process of forming booth level committees was under progress.
