No extension of rebate in water bill for adopting rain water harvesting

Sir,

We, the senior citizens of Ramakrishnanagar in city, are engaged in environmental and social volunteering services in our locality. On behalf of all the residents who have installed Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) facility, we are highlighting our grievances.

With great fanfare, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) came out with an announcement on  on Jan.25, 2021 that to encourage rain water harvesting, they will extend rebate of 10 percent in water bill and the consumers have to submit prescribed application form with necessary documents. The same was done by us in the year 2021 and the rebate was extended for a year.

After completion of one year, the rebate extension was stopped and on enquiry, we were asked to renew the application.

We obliged again and on Sept. 21, 2022 we submitted renewal application against an acknowledgement. Despite several follow ups with the authorities concerned at Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW), the rebate extension is not permitted and we are totally dissatisfied with the service extended and encouragement given by the MCC/VVWW to install RWH.

Even today we have received a bill from VVWW and there is sign of extension of the facility.
