T. Narasipur: Co-operation and Mysuru District-in-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar has said that no Government Hospital in the district must face shortage of medicines to treat COVID positive patients in the wake of extension of lockdown till June 7.
He was speaking after visiting various Primary Health Centres in T. Narasipur Assembly Constituency yesterday. He wanted those who have taken to the first dose of vaccine to take the second dose at Government Hospitals.
The Minister said the Black Fungus disease was spreading in the district and it required immediate attention. “COVID positive patients must be isolated at home or admit them to the hospital of their choice. Officers of Health Department are free to conduct any number of tests from morning to evening for early detection of cases. Now, district was getting 47 KL oxygen. Let the people need not worry about vaccination or medicines,” he added.
He said that crowding of people in markets or banks without following the guidelines may push up the positive cases. Hence, those who gather in large in public places must be imposed fine.
T. Narasipur MLA Ashwin Kumar said that medicines were distributed house to house in the current lockdown period and requested the Government to send the medicines in sufficient quantity.
SP C.B. Ryshyanth, Tahsildar Nagesh, Taluk Health Officer Dr. Ravikumar, Dr Vijay Kumar, Dr. Rashmi, Dr Yogesh Doora and others were present.
