Mysuru: With some KSRTC Worker Unions calling for an indefinite strike from midnight of Dec. 31 to press for fulfilment of demands, the KSRTC Naukarara Okkoota has clarified that there won’t be any strike from Dec.31 and buses will ply as usual.
Speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, the Okkoota President Vishwanath Gowda said that the KSRTC Staff and Workers Union, has been playing the theatrics of calling a strike every four years to seek fulfilment of demands.
“The current Government has given us an assurance on fulfilment of just demands of KSRTC workers and staff in stages after giving due consideration. We have confidence that the Government will keep its word and the only thing is that we have to wait with patience. In this backdrop, it can be said there is no justification for the indefinite strike call from Dec. 31”, he said, reiterating that there would be no KSRTC strike from Dec. 31. The Staff and Workers Union has been playing with the future of KSRTC staff, he added.
Meanwhile, the KSRTC Staff and Workers Union, said that it will go ahead with the strike from Dec. 31.
Pointing out that the operation of buses would be stopped from midnight of Dec. 31, the union claimed that six recognised unions will be taking part in the strike.
