Nanjangud – Asserting that the BJP’s plan to replicate UP’s victory in Karnataka will fail, Chief Minister Siddharamaiah has said that there was no Modi wave in the State.
Speaking at a meeting at the Congress Office in the town after taking part in a road show yesterday, Siddharamaiah termed State BJP Chief B.S. Yeddyurappa (BSY), as a liar.
Claiming that Yeddyurappa did not take part in any public movement in his nearly four decade in politics, Siddharamaiah said BSY’s dream of coming to power in the 2018 Assembly Polls would not materialise.
Asserting that his Government had fulfilled more than 150 out of the 165 pre-poll promises made, CM said his Government had taken all sections of the society along. Alleging that the BJP had left behind minorities and Backward sections from its organisational base, the CM maintained that the BJP had no moral right to speak about backward classes.
Stating that the Yeddurappa Government had ordered firing on protesting farmers just a couple of months after coming to power in 2008, the CM said Yeddyurappa’s words sounded like the devil preaching the gospel.
Maintaining that the performance of the Congress Government in the past 4 years, would take the Congress candidate to the good post in the by-polls, Siddharamaiah appealed the electorate to vote for Congress candidate Kalale Keshavamurthy, who is always accessible to the people.
KPCC President and Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara, Ministers Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, R.V. Deshpande, Tanveer Sait, Umashree & Basavaraj Rayareddy MP R. Dhruvanarayan, leaders Allum Veerabhadrappa, C.M. Ibrahim, Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah, actor Shashi Kumar and others were present.
