No street-lights on Shivaji Road in N.R. Mohalla

Sir,

There are no street-lights on Shivaji Road in N.R. Mohalla for the past one-and-a-half-month.

Reason: Roads are dug up for cabling work to replace the street-lights with LEDs and the dug road left unattended, causing inconvenience to the commuters, particularly morning walkers, ladies and senior citizens.

The whole stretch of 2 kms from Fountain Circle till the end of North-East of N.R. Mohalla is in pitch darkness and scary to walk. Earlier there were complaints of chain-snatching too in this area. I don’t understand why it is taking such a long time in this modern technological era to put the things in order. Several complaints made to the area Corporator and MCC have not yielded any results.

I request the authorities concerned to take the matter seriously and restore the lights on these dark streets immediately without any further delay.
