Sir,
I would like to bring to the attention of the relevant authorities a pressing issue faced by many Mysureans when attempting to use digital public services.
The MysoreOne portal, part of the larger KarnatakaOne initiative, is intended to provide citizens with convenient access to a wide range of services — from utility bill payments to obtaining government certificates. However, it has come to my notice that the option to check and pay traffic violation fines is missing from the MysoreOne platform.
This facility is available and fully functional on BangaloreOne and several other regional portals. Yet, for reasons unknown, it remains absent in Mysuru’s portal. As a result, when the Traffic Police stop citizens, they are often unaware of any pending fines. The inability to verify or pay fines online in such situations causes confusion and, in some unfortunate cases, creates scope for unofficial settlements.
In an era where digital governance is being promoted and cashless transactions are encouraged, it is both surprising and disappointing that such a basic yet essential feature has not been enabled in Mysuru. This omission puts genuine, law-abiding citizens at a clear disadvantage.
I urge the concerned departments and officials to address this issue promptly and enable traffic fine verification and payment functionality on the MysoreOne portal at the earliest.
